Ricerca n. CFO160721 – CFO for Business Unit – hinterland of Milan

Studio Temporary Manager™ is looking for a full-time Chief Financial Officer for 6 months, starting 1 August 2021, for a team mission, with a direct contract with STM. The CLIENT is a multinational company which designs, manufactures and sells in the safety industry. It operates globally, with significant growth opportunities in Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. They are based in Italy, in the hinterland of Milan, where their head office and factory are located. They are a fast growing company with an impressive record of success.
They are now looking for a CFO as part of the next phase of growth in our Business Unit.

Role Summary

The CFO has the following fundamental core objectives:
1. Manage the financial function of the legal entity
2. Support the growth strategy of the business, the investments needed to help growth, and the management of commercial risk, including working capital and cash-flow
3. Bring rigor to the financial processes to comply with  reporting and internal control policies
4. Be a pro-active, challenging, and fully participating member of the management team The CFO reports directly to the BU Managing Director with a dotted line responsibility into UK-based parent company.

Specific Responsibilities

• Directly manage finance function of the Italian legal entity
• Produce timely, and accurate monthly management accounts in line with headquarter requirements (within 5 working days of period end)
• Lead the annual consolidated budget process, and update monthly forecasting as part of the management accounts
• Provide management information as required to support the decisions to drive the business forward in line with the company strategy
• Manage working capital and cash-flow performance, support decision-making on investment opportunities, and identify and highlight potential risk to the BU’s financial position
• Identify, lead, and drive business improvement activities across all functions, including simplifying transactional processes and relevant deployment of IT solutions
• Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place to manage the business, and are in line with company policies
• Provide detailed half year and year end statutory reporting packs for the company
• Prepare and submit all statutory and tax filings for the Italian legal entity
• Attract talent and drive career development of the Finance team

Candidate Profile

• Successful candidates will need to demonstrate:
• Proven track record of leading a finance function that adds value, and is pro-active in the way it goes about its business
• Experience and gravitas to become the “go to” advisor/partner for the BU MD, and all other members of the management team, on financial matters
• A strong motivator and communicator, with the ability to lead from the front, and become hands-on where necessary
• The ability to challenge at all levels of the business whilst being diplomatic
• Team oriented and the ability to contribute to all aspects of the business
• A good eye for detail, whilst being able to see the broad picture
• Analytical with excellent commercial judgement

Qualifications and experience:

• Fluent Italian and English
• Degree educated
• Accounting Qualification
• 5+ years’ relevant CFO experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge and experience of Italian GAAP and IFRS
• Experience of management reporting in an international group would be beneficial
• Confident user of MS Office package, including Word and Excel
